Snoqualmie Pass Artists’ Vacation Home
Our clients moved to the Pacific Northwest, in part, because of their love for the cult-classic TV series, Twin Peaks. So, when making over their cozy vacation retreat in Snoqualmie Pass, they enlisted us to bring in the spirit of the dark, subversive drama. It was also essential to them that we utilize sustainable, vegan, secondhand, and repurposed decor. To accomplish all of this, we chose to layer Victorian, industrial, modern, and rustic elements within the existing log cabin for a cinematic, but entirely livable atmosphere.
While a full remodel wasn’t necessary, we chose to paint all interior walls a dark moody blue and then painted the existing quirky cabinets in a lighter version of that shade. In line with the goal of sustainability, we re-used the clients’ existing dining table and chandelier while pairing them with reupholstered vintage dining chairs. The drawing room’s antique Victorian daybed doubles as a guest bed, welcoming the more and the merrier into the mountainside escape. And to finalize the quirky, mysterious style, details like the tempestuous cloud wallpaper and the collection of Staffordshire dog figurines are some of the many accents that tie it all together.
